Modern Folklore - London, is inspired by the concept of friends and lovers exchanging and treasuring garments that are made to be loved, worn, shared. The wish is that Coded Cloth pieces, each a one-off collage of unique fabrics become contemporary heirlooms, embracing a non-generational approach to fashion. Playfully inspired by 1970s sportswear, 1990s colour block unisex shell suits and contemporary athleisure: sewing circle meets skate park: shall we call it ‘urban utopian’? This season offers a modern take on sartorial folklore. Moving towards genderless fashion through the introduction of sweatshirts that the sexes can share between them. Offering a few core shapes- ‘The City’ and ‘The Sea’, as well as patchworked bucket hats.
Relaxed silhouettes are explored in a more tonal colour palette that includes off whites, mint greens and Delft blues, with touches of tulip red, biscuit, and aqua. The silhouettes may evolve with each story, but the philosophy behind Coded Cloth remains steadfast: to rejuvenate unique heirloom textiles, and transform them into modern garments that are ethical, wearable, shareable and desirable.
